Goesta Frohm was born in 1908 in the town of Solleftea in northern Sweden. He quickly became enrolled in the Swedish Association for The Promotion of Outdoor Life. As early as in 1935 he led skiing schools at Storlien, a famous ski resort in Sweden. In the beginning of the forties he was for three years Officer of Athletics in the Swedish Army. Following this he intended to qualify for the rank of major but then the Association for Promotion of Outdoor Life told him "We need you as intendant at our head office". In this position Goesta continued developing his ideas about education, which also meant plowing new grounds in a continuos fight for money.Goesta retired in 1973. He was then active in the local organization of the Association in Lidingoe, just outside of Stockholm. He frequently travelled around in the country and also abroad to give his "sermons of the mount", as he himself called them.
In December 1997, Goesta was awarded the medal "Illis Quorum" by the Government. The medal was awarded Goesta Frohm for his commitment for children and nature in the Forest Mulle groups. His character Forest Mulle has become a symbol for preservation of the nature. With Forest Mulle children all over the world have discovered the nature and been motivated to care for it. The medal was awarded to Goesta on December 2, 1997, by the Mrs. Anna Lindh, Minister of Environment.
In January, 1998, he was appointed to "The culture personality of the year" in the county of Botkyrka, outside Stockholm.
